Make-a-Wish Fundraiser

We were delighted to welcome our managers, Dorothy Kerr and Lesley Johnston, to Colinton Care Home for a very special event. Both Dorothy and Lesley brought along an array of homemade baked goods, which they kindly offered for sale in support of Make-A-Wish UK, a charity dedicated to granting the wishes of children with critical illnesses.

The atmosphere was warm and cheerful as staff, residents, and visitors gathered to enjoy the delicious treats on offer. From cakes and cookies to tarts and pastries, there was something to tempt every sweet tooth, and the sense of community spirit was palpable.

Thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of everyone who participated, we raised an amazing £76 for this fantastic cause. Every donation, no matter how small, contributes to helping children and their families experience magical moments during challenging times.

Residents thoroughly enjoyed being part of the event, not only sampling the baked goods but also taking part in the friendly chatter and laughter that filled the room. Events like this are a wonderful way to bring people together, strengthen connections, and create joyful memories within our care home community.

Our staff played a key role in making the day a success, helping with the setup, sales, and ensuring everyone felt included in the event. Their dedication and support are always at the heart of Colinton Care Home, and this occasion was no exception.

We are immensely grateful to our visitors, residents, and staff for their contributions and for helping us support such a meaningful charity. Your generosity will directly help make the wishes of children facing serious health challenges come true.

A huge thank you once again to everyone who contributed, bought a treat, or simply shared in the fun. Events like this show the power of community, kindness, and teamwork, and we look forward to hosting more opportunities to give back in the future.
